New to bee keeping, got an 8 frame starter kit without realizing I'd need a second box fairly soon so I ordered this unassembled kits which was a little cheaper than one that comes together and probably saves some shipping costs. It took less than 5 minutes to assemble, pre-drilled countersunk holes for the provided screws make it very easy for any novice to assemble and it looks professionally made when done. Frames are easy to assemble, takes about 2 minutes per frame if that. Very happy with this brand and they have great customer service. My shipment was delayed a couple times but they stayed on top of it.

The wax coating is great except that when you put it on another box it slides I have to put a latch on the sides to keep it in place

We came across the MayBee 8 frame hives and thought they looked well made and the price was very reasonable so we thought we would give them a try. We are very pleased. Wood has nice finish. We used a dremmel to pre-drill nail holes for ease of installation. Highly recommend this company!

My wonderful hubby bought me the Maybee starter kit with the ten frame deep with top and bottom board and roof for my birthday. The box went together easily with a few taps of my rubber mallet. A cordless driver made quick work installing the screws provided in the kit. The directions were clear and assembling the frames was a piece of cake. I did use my cordless nail gun and 1 inch brads along with some glue in the joints. All in all, it was a very pleasant two hours with no snags. A few weeks later my bees moved in and multiplied. So much so that I purchased another Maybee hive with both medium and deep supers and top and bottom boards, I gave the bees the deep super which was filled up with brood and honey in a very short time. If my queen needs more room, it will be another Maybee super for her. My only regret is that I wish I had gotten the 8 frame supers, if only for the fact that these boxes are heavy once filled with brood and honey and two less frames might make a difference. Another way to go might be to keep them in medium supers.

The box dovetails are very well made. The box assembled snuggly but easily with a few light taps of a mallet. The included screws went in easily and made all the joints tight. I love the natural look and the wax coating should make the box last a long time. I have not assembled the frames but other frame I bought from this company were well made and assembled very easily.

I love how this hice is built and how it fits together. If you plan on painting the hive, just remember it is wax dipped. I tried to sand the wax off and thought I did a good job but months later I am noticing bubbling since it is now like 100 degrees outside. I will definitely not buy a wax dipped hive in the future since I prefer my hives to be painted on the exterior.

This has been the best fitting box for assembly, nice and tight joints. Once together it is built like a tank. It has a nice thick wax coating and it even looks good! The frames are standard but the foundations also seem like they are just a bit heavier coated in wax than other brands. Well done, thank you.

I should know, I have bought almost every wax dipped hive boxes out there. Many have poor fit on the edges, thin wax coats or low quality cuts on the frame pieces. Not MayBee, this thing is THICK coated and well impregnated with beeswax, predrilled holes and PERFECT fit on all the corner cuts. Frames were precision. I will only be buying MayBee hive bodies from here forward and want to thank the company for actually caring enough to have solid quality control and a solid product.

The screw holes are pre-drilled to prevent cracking. The wood is good quality, they are sturdy and they look nice once assembled.

It arrived in just a couple of days and I was shocked at how sturdy it was and that instead of nails lost suppliers send, they had screws with pre drilled holes for the hives.
